Jane Kaczmarek is an acclaimed American actress best known for her role as the matriarch Lois on the sitcom "Malcolm in the Middle" (2000–2006), earning seven Emmy and three Golden Globe nominations. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she studied theater at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before earning her MFA from Yale University. Her career began in the early 1980s with television and theater roles, including Broadway appearances. She has appeared in films like "Pleasantville" and numerous TV series. Beyond acting, she co-founded the charity Clothes Off Our Back.
