Set atop a picturesque hill in Shandon, about 15 miles east of Paso Robles, the privately-owned Serra Chapel is a beautiful venue for chamber orchestra performances. With 100 bench seats inside the Chapel and room for about 300 more people on the patio, the Chapel boasts panoramic views of the Central Coast hills and is the perfect spot to take in a sunset before the concert.
The Clark family generously opens the Chapel doors to Festival Mozaic each year. We kindly ask that you observe the following guidelines when you visit the Chapel to ensure the longevity of the beautiful property:
- Limited bench seating is provided on the patio, or you may bring your own lawn chair. To protect the antique patio tile, please ensure your seats have anti-scratch protectors or place a towel or blanket underneath the chair legs.
- You may bring your own food and drink (including alcohol), but please enjoy your picnic on the dirt or hillside rather than on the patio. Snacks, sodas, water, beer and wine will be also available for sale. No food or drink is allowed inside the Chapel, but bottled water is OK on the patio.
- Limited trash receptacles are provided. If possible, take trash with you.
- While it may hot when you arrive, after sunset it can get cold. Please be prepared for varying temperatures and conditions.
- The gates to the parking lot will open one hour prior to the concert start time. Shuttle buses will take you and your belongings from the parking lot to the Chapel. In the interest of everyone's safety, please follow parking attendant and shuttle driver directions at all times.
- Due to the remote nature of this venue, to ensure patron safety an ambulance will be on site at the concert. Do not be alarmed.
