Alice Dade

Stand-Up Comedian

Alice Dade

Winner of NPR’s THE MOTH StorySLAM in Detroit (2009), Alice told a story about getting completely wasted in Moscow and an additional tie-breaker about dating a French mime artist. As a student, Alice was employed by The Juilliard School’s Student Affairs Office. She once received a call from the original Late Night with Conan O’Brien, asking if anyone at Juilliard would be interested in an internship. Alice asked how much it paid and if it would just be a resume booster. She said she would put up a flier and didn’t inquire more about the position. What an idiot.

A student of The Improv Retreat in Wisconsin as well as classes at Second City: Chicago with comedian Dan Telfer, Alice has performed stand-up at open mics in Las Vegas, Kansas City, and St. Louis. The first reaction she received when asking to sign up as a performer was: “Let me guess…you’ve been watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?”

It was probably the purse.
