Steven Copes

Steven has served as Concertmaster of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra since 1998. He is also a frequent Guest Concertmaster, having led the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Mahler Chamber Orchestra on numerous tours and recordings, and has served in the same capacity with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the London Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony. In addition, he has performed as soloist with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, and the Sioux City Symphony. His festival appearances include Chamber Music Northwest, La Jolla, Mainly Mozart, and Marlboro, among others. He holds degrees from the Curtis Institute and Juilliard School.
