Festival Mozaic is proud to announce a five-year contract extension for Music Director Scott Yoo, securing his artistic leadership through the 2030 season, which will mark his 25th anniversary with the organization. 

This announcement comes on the heels of a tremendously successful Summer 2025 San Luis Obispo Music Festival, which celebrated Yoo’s 20th anniversary season with sold-out performances, acclaimed guest artists, and the debut of several exciting new initiatives. The festival reaffirmed Festival Mozaic’s place as a premier cultural destination on California’s Central Coast. 

Since joining Festival Mozaic in 2005, Maestro Yoo has transformed the summer festival into a nationally recognized destination for classical music, celebrated for its world-class performances, adventurous programming, and intimate audience experiences in stunning venues across San Luis Obispo County. 

Under Yoo’s leadership, Festival Mozaic has expanded well beyond its summer offerings to include year-round concerts, educational programs, and new initiatives such as the newly launched Mozaic Fellows, a young artist residency that debuted this summer. His commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement has left an indelible mark on the region and the national classical music landscape.

This five-year extension ensures continued momentum as Festival Mozaic plans ambitious projects and collaborations leading up to Yoo’s milestone anniversary. His tenure has included commissioning new works, presenting internationally acclaimed artists, and earning national recognition as the producer and host of the acclaimed PBS series Now Hear This, which has spotlighted his artistic vision and Festival Mozaic’s role as a cultural leader.
