Film: Maestra
Tickets start at $13
Maestra (2023) is an inspiring documentary directed by Maggie Contreras that spotlights the immense, often overlooked, talent of women in classical music. Following five international conductors, the film documents their journey to Paris to compete in "La Maestra," the world's only all-women conducting competition. It highlights their tenacity, passion, and the intense personal sacrifices they make to break through a field where fewer than 3% of conductors are female.
Presented in collaboration with the SLO International Film Festival.
