Master Class with Sophie Shao

Festival Mozaic's Artist-in-Residence Sophie Shao leads a free master class for cellists from San Luis Obispo. Master classes are great opportunities for young performers. Each student will play a selection for Ms. Shao, after which she will work with the students for 20-30 minutes offering constructive feedback: suggestions on musical ideas, practice techniques, and more. These classes are always very interesting and informative for musicians and non-musicians alike!

This event is free and open to the public, but advance reservations are required. The class will last between 1.5 and 2 hours.

PROGRAM & RUNTIME: This event will begin at 7:00 PM and last between one and a half and two hours, without an intermission.
DIRECTIONS & PARKING: The class will take place in the Sanctuary at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1344 Nipomo Street, in San Luis Obispo. Click here for directions via Google Maps. The church parking lot entrance is located on the cross street, Pismo Street, which is one-way and must be entered from Broad Street. The entrance to the Sanctuary is located on the corner of Nipomo and Pismo Street, around the corner from the parking lot.
