Joan is a creative professional in arts and education. She received her Master of Theatre Arts, specializing in directing and dramaturgy (adaptations & new play development), and then conducted a year-long, nationwide research project exploring how different communities use the arts to address and transform trauma. Joan moved to the central coast in November 2017 to run the CPAC at Cuesta, where she has had the immense joy of learning about and falling in love with passionate local arts organizations like Festival Mozaic. She serves as a board member of the San Luis Obispo County Library Foundation with her fiancé, has volunteered on multiple SLO Chamber of Commerce committees since 2020, and only appears on stage once in a blue moon. She thoroughly enjoys making lists and color-coordinated calendars, playing drums and learning guitar, perusing libraries and record stores with John, and running around with her dog Odin. Her favorite word is community, and she loves being immersed in Festival Mozaic’s.
