A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Yvonne began her career as an education and political reporter for the Tulsa Tribune. She later transitioned into municipal government with the cities of Tulsa and San Diego before moving to the Port of Long Beach, where she was quickly promoted to Director of Communications. In that capacity, she oversaw the port’s national and international publications, advertising, media relations, speakers’ bureau, and special events. Since her retirement, Yvonne has become an avid hiker and weaver. When not climbing big hills, she can be found working at her loom.
