Julie Lynem is the current vice president of the board for R.A.C.E. Matters SLO, overseeing its parent and youth committee, RaiseUp SLO. Through RaiseUp SLO, Julie has helped connect with families of color by hosting educational activities and programs, with some tackling difficult topics including race and bullying. Julie is an assistant professor of journalism at Cal Poly and has worked as a journalist for more than 20 years in the Midwest and California, including a stint as reporter, columnist and editor at The Tribune in San Luis Obispo.
