Notable Dinner: Dvorak Piano Quartet

Join Scott Yoo for an interactive musical exploration of Dvorak's D major piano quartet. Throughout the evening you will learn about the composer, hear performances of some selections, and gain insight into the piece. The evening will conclude with a gourmet four-course dinner, complete with wines from Paso Robles winery Kiamie Wine Cellars.

Music Director Scott Yoo is also the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Mexico City Philharmonic.  He is also the Host and Executive Producer of the PBS miniseries Now Hear This, the first series about classical music on American prime time TV in 50 yearsHe has led the Colorado, Dallas, Indianapolis, New World, San Francisco and Utah Symphonies, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in their Elliott Carter Festival and in his Carnegie Hall debut. As a violinist, Mr. Yoo has appeared as soloist with the Boston Symphony, Dallas Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Colorado Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, New World Symphony, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Read more about Scott here.

Ben Ullery currently serves as Assistant Principal viola of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, a position he has held since 2012. Prior to moving to LA he spent three seasons with the Minnesota Orchestra. He has recently appeared as Guest Principal with the Detroit Symphony, Australian Chamber Orchestra, and Aspen Chamber Symphony. Read more about Ben here.

Cellist Jonah Kim made his solo debut with Wolfgang Sawallisch and the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2003. The same year, he also appeared with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC. Jonah graduated from the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute in spring of 2006 at the age of 17. Read more about Jonah here.

Pianist Anna Polonsky is widely in demand as a soloist and chamber musician. She has appeared with the Moscow Virtuosi, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Memphis Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, and many others.
