Chamber Music Concert with Scott Yoo

Chamber Music Concert with Scott Yoo

April 17, 2027 - 7:30 PM

Starting at $45

Scott Yoo is joined by violist Jenni Seo, cellist Alexander Hersh, and pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute for an evening of chamber music. Beethoven's first sonata for cello and piano opens the program, the first example of a fully developed sonata with both instruments playing an equal part. Following this is Trio Verbrugghe, a string trio by Bruce Van Nostrand which was inspired by a 1963 tragedy in the Congo. After intermission is Fauré's second piano quartet, a passionate work that established the composer's artistic maturity.
