Chamber Music Concert with Scott Yoo

Chamber Music Concert with Scott Yoo

February 28, 2027 - 3:00 PM

Starting at $45

Scott Yoo is joined by flutist Alice K. Dade, cellist Robert deMaine, and pianist Anna Polonsky for an afternoon of chamber music. Haydn's lesser-known trio for flute, cello and piano begins the concert, showcasing the pianist but includes moments of virtuosity for the other players, as well. Schumann's Adagio and Allegro for cello and piano represents the composer's fascination with duality, contrasting the lyrical Adagio with the agitated Allegro. Schubert drew inspiration from his song Trockne Blumen ("dry flowers") to composer Introduction and Variations for flute and piano, which includes a set of seven variations on the main tune. After intermission, the musicians present Dvorak's third piano trio, which is often over-shadowed by the fourth but is full of rich expression and finishes with an exuberant folk-style finale.
